Data Governance and AI Strategy Specialist

Job Overview

We are seeking a Data Governance and AI Strategy Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Data, Product & Technology - Enterprise team, you will play a critical role in shaping our responsible data and AI strategy.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data governance principles, including quality and lifecycle management. They will also have experience conducting Privacy Impact Assessments and identifying and mitigating risks related to data privacy and AI use.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain frameworks for AI and Data Governance to support innovation while ensuring ethical standards and privacy protections.
  • Support the management of key data assets, ensuring quality and integrity.
  • Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments for new projects to ensure compliance with the Privacy Act and Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to data privacy and AI use.
  • Partner with teams to embed a 'Privacy-by-Design' culture and contribute to training programs.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in data privacy, governance, or technology risk.
  • Practical understanding of the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and APPs.
  • Experience conducting Privacy Impact Assessments.
  • Knowledge of data management principles, including quality and lifecycle management.
  • Understanding of AI concepts and associated privacy challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
