Job Opportunity

The Mackay Hospital and Health Service seeks a Senior Mental Health Clinician to join the Acute Care Team on a permanent basis.

The role is based in the Mackay Emergency Department and involves advanced level intake/triage, assessment, and crisis management functions. The successful applicant will work a varied roster 7 days a week with RDO accrual, including morning and afternoon shifts, and potential night shifts in the future.


Key Responsibilities

The Senior Mental Health Clinician will be responsible for delivering advanced level intake/triage, assessment, and crisis management within the Mackay Division of Mental Health Acute Care Team.

They will also provide leadership and support to the team as required.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, applicants must possess strong clinical skills and experience in mental health care. They should also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as psychology or nursing, is essential. A postgraduate qualification and/or registration as a psychologist/occupational therapist/social worker/clinical nurse consultant is highly desirable.
