Mental Health Recovery Specialist

We're seeking a Recovery Oriented Peer Support Specialist to join our organisation. As a peer support specialist, you will be working with consumers who face similar challenges to your health and wellbeing.
About the Role:- Provide consumer-led emotional, social, and service support through one-on-one peer support, facilitating peer-led groups, and transdisciplinary teamwork.
- Draw on your own life-changing lived experience of distress, trauma and/or substance use, and your journey of recovery and healing.
- Emphasise connection, mutuality and support consumers to explore worldviews and move toward what is meaningful to the consumer.
- Conduct initial assessments and develop tailored support plans in collaboration with consumers.
- Deliver person-centred interventions that promote self-advocacy, empowerment, and resilience.
- Facilitate group sessions that foster a sense of community, shared understanding, and collective growth.
- Personal lived/living experience of recovery as an individual or as a family, friend or carer.
- Minimum Cert IV qualification in Lived Experience (e.g. Cert IV Mental Health Peer Work) or complete within 2 years of employment.
- Computer literacy and ability to utilise digital tools for communication and documentation.
- Generous leave entitlements including annual leave loading.
- Optional monthly accrued day off (ADO) for full-time staff.
