Role Overview

This new leadership role involves leading a cancer program focused on education, screening, and culturally safe client support across the NT's Big Rivers region.

  • Develop and implement cancer initiatives and screening strategies to address health disparities in First Nations communities.
  • Lead a team including a Cancer Care Nurse and promotion staff to deliver high-quality cancer care services.
  • Partner with key stakeholders such as Cancer Council NT, NT Health, and BreastScreen to improve access to screening and care pathways.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate clinical and health promotion staff to provide effective cancer care services.
  2. Develop and implement culturally safe and effective cancer care services for First Nations communities.
  3. Participate in ongoing cultural learning and mentoring to improve practice.
Requirements
  • AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or Aboriginal Health Practitioner.
  • Experience in First Nations or remote health contexts with a strong understanding of cancer care or health promotion.
  • At least 3 years' experience in program coordination or clinical leadership.
