As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be part of our Data Science & AI Centre of Excellence, developing high-impact AI solutions and guiding strategic investment in data initiatives across the organisation.

You will work across the full delivery lifecycle, from prototypes and pilots to scalable, production-grade solutions embedded in core systems.

This is a hands-on technical position with opportunities for informal leadership, including guiding small offshore teams and influencing best practices across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and productionise ML pipelines
  • Design and deliver advanced Data Science and AI projects that create significant business value
  • Guide small offshore teams and influence best practices across the organisation
  • Contribute to platform development, tooling, and best-practice frameworks
  • Shape Suncorp's AI ecosystem
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g. Data Science, ML, Statistics, Actuarial, Engineering, Maths)
  • 7+ years experience in Data Science, AI, or closely related fields
  • Strong Python programming skills and experience with ML pipeline optimisation
  • Deep understanding of Machine Learning algorithms and neural networks
  • Experience with Databricks (desirable)
  • Familiarity with Generative AI and experience building prototypes or POCs
