Overview

The Head of School role is responsible for academic leadership and delivery of courses within a discipline, supporting the achievement of organizational goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage course operations and delivery, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
  • Lead the development of industry-relevant strategies to promote student employability.
  • Oversee continuous improvement processes, including course reviews, moderation, and benchmarking.
  • Academic & People Management: Lead and manage a high-performing academic team, monitoring student achievement and identifying opportunities for growth.
  • Course Development & Industry Engagement: Chair Course Advisory Committees, engage with industry partners, and develop relationships with external organizations for practicum and work placement opportunities.

Requirements:

  • PhD in a relevant discipline or field; experience in management and leading change in a higher education environment.
  • Knowledge of contemporary developments in the discipline, informed by scholarship and practice.
  • Current or recent practicing experience within the discipline preferred; skills in teaching, learning, and assessment principles specific to the discipline.
