Senior Legal Advisor

This is a key role that plays a pivotal part in the delivery of high-level legal advice and support to Defence Housing Australia.

The primary focus of this position lies in providing expert legal services across various areas, including environment, planning, and heritage law, construction law, and real property law.

You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and broader teams to provide strategic and legal guidance on matters related to DHA's provisioning, development, and construction activities, spanning multiple Australian jurisdictions.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver legal services in environment, planning, and heritage law, encompassing Commonwealth and State environmental assessment processes, biodiversity impacts and offsets, land access, pollution, contamination, waste and water law, cultural heritage, climate change, and ESG considerations.
  • Advise on construction contracts, risk management, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance within construction law.
  • Support land acquisition and disposal processes within real property law.
