Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine the school's educational curriculum, ensuring it aligns with contemporary teaching and learning methodologies.
- Collaborate with the Principal to oversee the school's educational vision and direction, and contribute to the development of the Future Directions curriculum.
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to staff, students, and stakeholders, inspiring and motivating them to achieve educational excellence.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient operation and compliance with regulations.
- Manage budgets, resources, and staff, ensuring effective allocation and utilization.
- Conduct staff appraisals, mentor new coordinators and teachers, and review school policies and procedures.
- Maintain a safe and effective learning environment, and assist in organizing public events and school functions.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a Deputy Principal in an Australian school, with a strong background in budgeting, resource allocation, curriculum planning, and policy development.
- Proven ability to inspire and motivate staff, students, and stakeholders to achieve educational excellence.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to changes and lead initiatives for educational innovation and digital integration.
- Sound Islamic knowledge and a commitment to upholding Islamic values and the school's ethos.
- Knowledge and experience of secondary school planning and development, including Senior Secondary Studies (SSS) and Vocational Education and Training (VET).
What We Offer:
The Islamic School of Canberra offers a competitive salary package, ranging from $142,082 to $168,734, depending on experience and qualifications. This is a fixed-term position, with renewal subject to sound performance.
