About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Rail Planning Team Lead to join our team at ClearCompany. As a key member of our rail planning team, you will be responsible for leading strategic rail planning projects, managing project teams, and developing business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Lead a team of rail planning professionals in delivering strategic rail planning projects, focusing on the Queensland market.
  • Business Development: Identify and shape opportunities related to strategic rail planning, develop action plans to win work, and lead bids for public and private clients.
  • Team Management: Guide the performance of the team to meet client outcomes, deliver tangible benefits, and maintain profitability.
  • Collaboration: Interface closely with our Queensland advisory, planning, and mobility teams to identify wider collaboration opportunities to support our rail and transport clients.
  • Staff Development: Support and mentor staff to undertake development activities, helping them realize their potential.
  • Safety Culture: Lead and foster a good safety culture to ensure the safety and well-being of all staff.
  • Commercial Performance: Contribute to reaching the targets of our national Strategic Rail Planning Strategy, from a Queensland perspective.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Engineering, Project Management, or equivalent. Master's Degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years' relevant post-graduate experience in leading rail planning projects, especially at the strategic level.
  • Skills: Deep knowledge and experience in business case development process in Australia, especially in Queensland. Well-connected to rail professionals in Queensland, especially with decision-makers from governmental organizations.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Great interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with people from many different disciplines in a dynamic environment.
