About the Role

Job Summary

The Brisbane City Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Officer - ICT Innovation Technology to lead the identification, evaluation, and preparation for deployment of emerging technologies such as Generative AI, Machine Learning, and Augmented Reality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of digital transformation strategies to drive business growth and improve customer experiences.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and evaluate emerging technologies and their potential impact on the organization.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, government agencies, education institutions, and industry bodies to stay up-to-date with the latest technological advancements.
  • Compile and deliver persuasive presentations, business cases, and reports to senior executives to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Provide consultancy and advice to business and technology stakeholders on the effective use of emerging technologies to drive business outcomes.
  • Manage and document technical assets, including code, to ensure efficient and effective technology solutions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in driving digital transformation and innovation in a large organization.
  • Strong technical capabilities across a wide range of technologies, including Generative AI, Machine Learning, and Augmented Reality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a team-based culture and values-based environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and evaluate emerging technologies.
