About the Role:

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a significant project while building valuable experience. As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing work package scopes, customer requirements specifications, and tender documentation;
  • Leading project engineering for assigned work packages, ensuring timely and efficient delivery;
  • Overseeing project engineering activities with a focus on safety, governance, and technical precision;
Safety and Environmental Leadership:

You will champion Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, completing required safety audits. You will foster a safe workplace, ensuring all tasks align with our client's policies and regulatory standards.

Project Control, Procurement, and Contract Administration:

You will coordinate tendering, procurement, and contract administration for assigned packages. You will ensure projects are completed within budget and on schedule, supporting project control and cost management.

Construction, Commissioning, and Operational Readiness Support:

You will provide technical support to construction teams and manage the flow of design information. You will assist in commissioning, ensuring seamless transitions from project completion to operational readiness.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5+ years of experience in construction or capital project management within heavy industry;
  • Strong experience in managing small to medium-sized project work packages;
  • Proficient in contract preparation, tendering, project planning, and risk management;
  • Skilled in coordinating cross-functional teams, with effective communication abilities;
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project) and experience with project management tools;
  • Commitment to a zero-harm project outcome with strong knowledge of safety and environmental standards;
Salary and Location:

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $80-$120 AUD, depending on experience. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your career in Wollongong, a thriving city located on the south coast of New South Wales, Australia.
