Key Role Summary

This is a critical position in our tax team that requires expertise and leadership skills to manage complex corporate tax matters. You will be responsible for leading a team of professionals, working closely with senior leadership, and delivering high-quality outcomes.

The Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing and reviewing corporate income tax compliance including income tax returns and tax consolidations.
  • Overseeing and reviewing Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) compliance, including return preparation and advisory work.
  • Providing expert tax advisory on corporate restructures, international tax matters, and employee share schemes.
  • Reviewing tax effect accounting calculations and preparing tax notes for listed and large private clients.
  • Leading client engagements and coordinating teams to ensure work is delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget.
  • Preparing and monitoring billings, managing WIP, and supporting team profitability and productivity.
  • Coaching and mentoring team members, contributing to their professional development and engagement.
  • Building trusted relationships with clients and supporting business development initiatives across the practice.
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified with a Bachelor of Commerce or other relevant qualification.
  • Completed a CA or CPA qualification.
  • At least 7 years of experience in corporate tax within a professional services environment.
  • Technically proficient and interested in learning to keep up to date with Australian corporate tax legislation and international tax developments.
  • Experience with FBT, tax effect accounting under AASB 112, tax notes, employee share schemes, and cross-border tax planning.
  • Strong judgement, critical thinking, and analytical skills to deliver technically sound outcomes.
  • Effective communicator and team leader with the ability to manage competing priorities and coordinate stakeholders to meet deadlines.
  • Committed to exceptional client service and take pride in building collaborative relationships.
  • Desire to build efficiency within the team and the practice.
  • Current national police clearance and Australian working rights.
