Job Opportunity

We are seeking experienced Naval Architects to join our team at Navantia Australia. As a key player in the Australian government's Naval Shipbuilding Plan, we are committed to growing Australia's shipbuilding and sustainment capability.

As a Naval Architect with us, you will be responsible for delivering engineering services for naval ships, including design activities such as general arrangement, concept design, weight control, stability, seakeeping, maneuvering, and ship performance. You will also be involved in outfit design activities, such as compartment arrangements, structural closures, fire protection, deck arrangements, and equipment installation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level engineering technical competence based on relevant experience and knowledge.
  • Undertake technical investigations, root cause analysis, and solution identification.
  • Deliver technical reports and documentation in accordance with established Navantia and customer standards.
  • Work effectively within the broader Navantia Engineering Team to engage with different engineering disciplines.
  • Plan and coordinate assigned engineering projects from concept through to delivery.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering - Naval Architecture.
  • Proven skills and experience in a Naval Architecture function.
  • Experience in a technical and industrial Defence environment.
  • Familiarity and understanding of statutory regulations and Classification and Flag state rule sets.
  • Ability to produce clear, well-written, and well-presented reports to a high quality and standard.
