Research Scientist

We are seeking a talented Research Scientist to join our team in the field of Cancer Biology and Machine Learning. The successful candidate will work on developing novel machine learning algorithms to analyze spatial and spectral information from tumour sections.
The goal is to individualise tumour type, associated biomarkers and genomic characteristics to high precision. This research will lead to rapid precision diagnoses and effective individualised cancer care plans.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be eligible for this role, applicants must have:
- A strong background in Cancer Biology, Cancer Medicine, Physics, Chemistry or related fields
- Outstanding grounding in one or more relevant disciplines including machine learning/data science and coding
- An outstanding record of prior performance
The successful candidate will receive:
- A stipend scholarship for three and a half years to support their living costs
- A fee-relief scholarship for up to four years
- Opportunities to work with our outstanding researchers in state-of-the-art laboratories

- A collaborative project including time spent with leading research institutions
To be eligible to apply for this role, applicants must:
- Be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, or New Zealand special category visa holders
- Agree to be enrolled full-time and undertaking their research at our Melbourne campus
