About the Role:
  • Develop and deliver strategic communications plans that amplify our mission and drive meaningful impact.
  • Lead high-impact campaigns to promote initiatives and engage diverse audiences.
  • Craft compelling content for digital and print channels, including social media, newsletters, press releases, and reports.
  • Maintain consistency in tone and messaging, ensuring alignment with our brand and mission.
Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, media outlets, government agencies, and corporate partners.
  • Ensure culturally responsive, accurate, and engaging communication across all platforms.
  • Manage media inquiries, coordinate interviews, and oversee press coverage to ensure accurate and positive representation of our initiatives.
  • Develop materials to keep staff informed, engaged, and aligned with organisational priorities, fostering a culturally safe and inclusive workplace.
About You:
  • Demonstrated experience in a communications role, ideally within the not-for-profit or community sector.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience managing social media platforms and creating engaging digital content.
  • A strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and a commitment to advancing their social and emotional wellbeing.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary: AU$ 70,000 - AU$ 90,000 per annum.
  • Three days in our Canberra office and two days working from home.
