Job responsibilities
  • Contribute to teaching and learning in physics and biomedical engineering
  • Pursue original research, develop a program, and secure external funding
  • Establish collaborations within the School of Physics and the School of Biomedical Engineering
  • Supervise research students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • Maintain external research partnerships and engagement
  • Participate in service/administrative activities of the Schools of Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Science, and Faculty of Engineering
Required skills and qualifications
  • A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field
  • A strong track record of research in applied plasma physics and biointerface engineering
  • Demonstrated expertise in plasma processing, vacuum systems, high voltage pulsed power, and plasma diagnostics
  • Demonstrated experience in materials/surface science and engineering
  • The ability to express ideas clearly and communicate effectively within a team environment
  • The skill to work independently on problems and motivate junior team members
  • Demonstrated ability and enthusiasm to work in multidisciplinary contexts, including biomedical and clinical partners
  • Experience working with industry partners and ideally as a core partner in large multi-institutional projects
  • A capability to see the bigger picture and have vision for the future development of your project
  • Experience in university-level teaching, including lecturing or similar presentations
