Water Resource Expert

As a Water Resource Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective management of Victoria's surface water resources. This entails undertaking modelling tasks and technical assessments of surface water resources to inform decisions, analyse outcomes, and assess risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Modelling activities contributing to the Basin Plan Review and Sustainable Diversion Limit Adjustment Mechanism (SDLAM) projects.
- Supporting other initiatives including Long Term Water Resource Assessment and Urban Water Strategy.
You will be working closely with the Surface Water Assessment and Modelling (SWAM) team to ensure that decisions about Victoria's surface water resources are supported by the best-available information and assessment.
Requirements:
- A tertiary qualification in science, environmental or engineering.
- Technical data analysis skills and experience in technical report writing.
- Experience in data processing using scripting languages such as R and Python is desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Victorian water industry and/or the Murray-Darling Basin is desirable.
Work Arrangements:
The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
