Occupational Health Specialist

The Industrial Hygienist role involves undertaking industrial hygiene monitoring, collaborating with corporate and local stakeholders on IH planning, methodologies for sampling and data analysis, validation, reporting, and communication to be implemented.

  • Conduct annual IH planning meetings, IH Asia, and Corporate meetings.
  • Ensure compliance by conducting IH monitoring according to plan.
  • Implement respiratory protection programs including fit testing and training according to site plans.
  • Assist operations in managing respirators for staff and visitors.
  • Monitor activities according to annual plans, including noise sampling and chemical exposure sampling.
  • Samples must be sent to approved laboratories.
  • Identify individuals requiring medical surveillance.
  • Implement medical surveillance programs following corporate and legal guidelines.
  • Coordinate vendors through the vendor management process.
  • Retain records according to confidentiality requirements.
  • Implement flu vaccination programs within Occupational Medicine activities.
  • Work with site stakeholders to develop and implement the Ventilation Program.
  • Communicate ventilation risks.
Requirements

EducationMinimum 3 years of experience in an Industrial Hygienist role is required.

Desirable Experience

  • Degree with certificate, diploma or postgraduate qualifications in Industrial Hygiene.
  • Qualifications suitable for obtaining full membership to a professional body, eg AIOH, SIA.
  • Knowledge of legislative requirements relating to EHS and chemicals.
  • Experience with ventilation for contaminant control.
