Under the Defence Maintenance Contract, we provide crucial support to Australian Defence Force units as they prepare for and return from operations and exercises. Our services guarantee the operational readiness and safety of Defence assets, encompassing repair and maintenance of cutting-edge equipment through inspections, scheduled servicing, repairs, modifications, and comprehensive project work.

Role Overview:

Ventia is on the lookout for a seasoned Site Manager to lead the performance and execution of maintenance, repair, and project services on Defence equipment as part of our Defence Maintenance Contract.

This full-time permanent role will be based at our facility, where you will oversee daily operations, ensuring that contract performance objectives are met efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a collaborative and trusted relationship with clients, regularly reporting on expectations.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives focusing on safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Oversee the training and development of your team.
  • Support and drive change initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in safety and quality standards.
  • Provide data and analytics to inform stakeholders and highlight potential risks.
  • Explore opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Manage financial aspects, including strict adherence to monthly budgets and cost management.

Candidate Profile:

  • Demonstrated management and leadership experience in a workshop setting.
  • Background in Defence is highly regarded.
  • Trade qualifications or maintenance experience are advantageous.
  • Proven ability to engage and drive performance with technical staff and subcontractors.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, including presenting, negotiating, and report writing.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Valid Driver's Licence.
