Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team at Cummins Inc. As a Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for delivering a first-class service to our customers, completing service, repairs, and maintenance of heavy diesel products in our workshop, and supporting engine rebuilds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a first-class service to our customers
  • Complete service, repairs, and maintenance of heavy diesel products in our workshop
  • Support engine rebuilds
  • Diagnose and repair various engines predominately across on-highway, industrial, and power generation
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation and report any issues/incidents to the Workshop Manager
  • Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens

Requirements

  • Mechanical trades qualified as a Heavy or Light Vehicle Mechanic (to Australian standards)
  • Previous repairs and maintenance experience with Diesel Engines, Power Generation, On Highway Truck, Construction, or Agriculture desirable but not essential
  • Diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities
  • Be a team player & be prepared to adhere to Cummins Policies
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation, reporting any issues/incidents to shift supervisors

We offer a competitive hourly + shift allowance rate paid as a permanent salary, overtime penalties for all work above standard, Monday to Friday 38-hour work week. Uniform, further training, participation in an annual variable compensation (bonus) program, income protection continuance insurance, discounts with select private health insurance, PC software/hardware, and a range of vehicles. Annual remuneration reviews. Safety equipment/PPE and uniforms provided and a range of personal and professional benefits.
