Job Title: Painter

Key Responsibilities:
  • Calculate material quantities based on surface measurements or job specifications.
  • Erect scaffolding, cradles, and ladders, and protect areas with drop sheets.
  • Remove fixtures, old paint, or paper by sanding, scraping, or using blowtorches or liquid removers.
  • Prepare surfaces by fixing woodwork, filling holes, sealing cracks, and washing down to remove dust and grease.
  • Fabricate holes and cracks with caulk, putty, plaster, or other compounds.
  • Apply primers or sealers for paint adhesion.
  • Match colours by adding tints and brush, roll, or spray paints, stains, varnishes, and finishes.
  • Wallpaper by setting out the area, cutting paper, applying paste, and hanging it smoothly.
  • Apply decorative paint finishes like stencils, colour glaze, graining, marbling, and lettering.
Requirements:
  • Certificate III in Painting and Decoration.
  • At least two years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in Residential & Commercial Painting.
  • Valid drivers licence.
  • Achieve attention to detail and take pride in quality work.
