Grounds Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Grounds Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the grounds and landscapes across the ACT and NSW South Coast.

Your duties will include lawn and grounds maintenance, brush cutting, weeding, spot spraying, pruning, garden maintenance, fencing, mulching, plant maintenance, landscape maintenance, truck driving, woodchipper operation, bobcat, tractor, excavator work, fence painting, chainsaw use, assisting contractors, irrigation maintenance, turfing, seeding, tree transplanting, and unloading trucks for horse feed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lawn and Grounds Maintenance: Maintain the quality and appearance of lawns, gardens, and other outdoor spaces.
  • Brush Cutting and Weeding: Regularly cut and remove weeds and overgrown vegetation from gardens and outdoor areas.
  • Spot Spraying and Pruning: Identify and treat weeds and pests as necessary using spot sprayers and pruning equipment.
  • Garden Maintenance: Perform regular garden maintenance tasks such as watering, fertilizing, and pruning plants.
  • Fencing and Mulching: Install and maintain fences around gardens and outdoor areas, and apply mulch to retain moisture and suppress weeds.
  • Plant Maintenance: Water, fertilize, and prune plants to ensure their health and vitality.
  • Landscape Maintenance: Fertilize trees and gardens, prune shrubs and trees, spray pesticides and herbicides, install and maintain irrigation systems, and perform other related tasks.
  • Heavy Machinery Operation: Safely operate heavy machinery such as trucks, woodchippers, bobcats, tractors, and excavators.
Requirements:
  • Significant experience in the grounds and landscape industries.
  • A high level of integrity and self-motivation.
  • Prior exposure to building maintenance and agriculture sectors.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • A valid White Card and MR License (desirable).
