Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Child Development Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary health service, you will play a vital role in the assessment and management of children referred with concerns of development and behaviour.

Your primary responsibility will be to deliver high-quality social work services to children presenting with complex and varied developmental and behavioural difficulties. You will efficiently manage a clinical caseload for clients that require social worker support within our Child Development Service.

You will utilise your negotiation, consultation, advocacy and interpersonal skills to deliver services to consumers, their families, and carers. Your ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with stakeholders will be essential in achieving positive outcomes for our young clients.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this position, you will require:

  • Eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • A university-level social work degree accredited by the AASW
  • A Working with Children Check (Blue Card - we will meet the cost)
  • A driver's license
  • Evidence of vaccination, or the ability to be vaccinated against Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B and COVID-19
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • A declaration of any serious discipline history
