Job Title

We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Accountant to deliver accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance outcomes. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys ownership of their work, thrives on accuracy, and is keen to grow their technical and commercial accounting experience in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

This role will manage allocated accounting functions, ensure the integrity of financial data, and provide insights to support decision-making across the business. Key responsibilities include month-end close, balance sheet integrity, compliance and reporting, analysis and insights, process improvement, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the end-to-end month-end process for allocated entities or business units, including preparing journals, reconciliations, and adjustments.
  • Maintain and review assigned balance sheet accounts, investigate variances, and take corrective action where needed.
  • Prepare management reports and contribute to statutory reporting, audit schedules, and tax compliance deliverables.
  • Provide clear commentary and analysis to support management's understanding of financial results.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to accounting processes, enhancing accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, auditors, and advisors to ensure timely, accurate financial information.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline (CA/CPA qualified or working towards).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, Australian Accounting Standards, and relevant legislation.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, month-end processes, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP/accounting systems.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships across teams.
  • Proactive and adaptable, with a growth mindset and drive to improve processes.
