Financial Accounting Expert

The Financial Accounting Expert will step into a broad and hands-on role that is critical to supporting business operations, ensuring compliance, and delivering accurate financial outcomes across multiple entities.

Responsibilities
  • Lead month-end processes including variance analysis, reconciliations, and cash flow management.
  • Take ownership of the Profit and Loss statement, partnering with department leaders to ensure accuracy and transparency.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and expense management.
  • Oversee invoice processing and accounts management.
  • Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements, Payroll Tax, Fringe Benefits Tax, and other statutory obligations.
  • Prepare statutory financial reports and act as the key contact for external auditors.
  • Manage corporate income tax returns in collaboration with external tax consultants.
  • Oversee payroll, superannuation, intercompany reconciliations, and fixed asset register maintenance.
  • Supervise and mentor the Assistant Accountant to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
  • Support project reconciliations, Sales, General and Administrative forecasting, treasury activities, and ad hoc finance initiatives.
Requirements
  • CPA or CA qualification (or working towards)
  • Demonstrated experience preparing BAS, FBT, statutory reports.
  • Solid month-end reporting and compliance experience.
  • Strong Excel and systems skills, with a keen eye for process improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner with stakeholders across regions.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
