Breastfeeding Specialist Role

Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Breastfeeding Specialist to join our team in Mount Isa. This permanent, full-time role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of women and their families.

The successful candidate will be part of our Midwifery Service, providing specialized support and education to promote healthy breastfeeding practices. If you are passionate about lactation and have a strong background in nursing or midwifery, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding position.

About the Role

This role involves working closely with women, families, and healthcare professionals to provide expert guidance on breastfeeding and infant care. You will be responsible for developing and implementing programs to promote breastfeeding awareness and skills among our community members.

Requirements
  • A relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Registered Midwife (RM).
  • Current International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) status.
  • A postgraduate qualification or current enrollment in a relevant area of study is highly desirable.
  • C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.

Pre-employment screening will be conducted, including Criminal History checks. A period of probation may apply.

  • A base salary range between $107,960 and $115,604 per annum.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution.
