A dynamic opportunity has arisen for a seasoned Corporate Tax Compliance Specialist to join Bluefin Resources, a well-established provider of tax services. Based in the Melbourne CBD area, this fixed-term contract role offers a fast-paced environment where you will play a key part in ensuring accurate and timely indirect and direct tax compliance for multiple entities within the energy sector.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review a range of indirect and direct tax returns, including BAS/GST, FBT, payroll tax, and withholding taxes, to ensure compliance with all tax obligations.
  • Support financial accounting functions, including fixed asset reconciliation and tax-effect accounting for financial reporting.
  • Engage with business areas to raise tax awareness and enhance tax processes, while continuously reviewing systems, policies, and processes to ensure efficiency and compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gain a deeper understanding of business processes and their tax implications.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting or commerce (CPA or ICA preferred)
  • In-depth knowledge of income tax and indirect tax legislation
  • Prior experience in a corporate tax compliance role
  • Familiarity with fixed asset accounting policies and principles
  • Tax-effect accounting experience
  • Proficiency in SAP Finance (and FAR applications)
