Corporate Tax Strategist

We are seeking a seasoned Tax Specialist to join our team in Australia/NZ region. As a dedicated tax professional, you will play a crucial role in minimizing our tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with all tax/statutory requirements.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate tax and transfer pricing issues, with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. A CPA/CA qualification and 10 years of tax experience are essential.
About the role:
- Prepare and review statutory tax compliance and internal tax reporting schedules.
- Support CAR, liaise with ATO, NZ IRD, and other regulatory bodies.
- Advise on tax planning opportunities and communicate tax strategies to stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
Tax Compliance- Statutory Tax Compliance: Prepare and/or review statutory tax compliance as well as internal tax reporting schedules (DTA, tax provisions, ETR, cash tax flow budget).
- Support to CAR: Liaise with ATO, NZ IRD and other regulatory bodies when required.
- Accounting Team Support: Support accounting team to finalize audited accounts.
- Tax Planning Opportunities: Advise the business on tax planning opportunities, structure deals/proposals, ensure tax consequences are understood and correctly factored into the overall evaluations.
- Cross Border Tax Issues: Analyze PE and other cross border tax issues, assist in developing tax and cost effective planning strategies. Use of tax treaties and provide support regarding mobility tax matters.
- Business Analysis: Understand the business, analyze problems and challenges, quantify tax exposure.
- External Tax Developments: Follow external tax developments and provide proactive advice on possible implications for Capgemini and translate this into relevant elements of the tax strategy.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other affiliates in analyzing tax implications of transactions and current operations for financial reporting and tax compliance purposes.
- Legal Entity Rationalization: Partner with other teams/functions in legal entity rationalization projects, restructuring and integration. Support acquisition.
About You:
- CPA / CA qualification.
- 10 years of tax experience, preferably with large corporate tax department of a reputable multinational company, or large accounting firm.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Australia/NZ region tax and accounting matters.
- Possess strong tax knowledge and comprehensive experiences in corporate tax and TP issues.
- Possess relevant experience in providing tax advice, handling tax review and liaising with tax authorities.
- Superior work ethic and self discipline with the ability to initiate and complete projects on his/her own.
- Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills, including the ability to simplify and communicate complex business information.
