About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Corporate Tax Strategist to join our Melbourne team at Grant Thornton Australia.

This key role involves leading our knowledgeable team in delivering exceptional client experiences across diverse industries, unraveling the intricacies of corporate tax and providing bespoke solutions for businesses navigating tax audits, international tax challenges, corporate governance, and mergers and acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Tailor technical income tax advice to meet the unique needs of our clients.
  • Manage client relationships and ensure compliance with related party loans, tax planning, and structuring.
  • Oversee tax compliance and governance for large client groups, including significant trusts.
  • Support dynamic clients in transactions, advising on business structuring and conducting tax due diligence.
  • Address tax issues in cross-border investments and structures, handling revenue office submissions, reviews, and audits.
  • Provide tax advisory support to Grant Thornton's wider team and professionals in our Affinity network.
  • Cross-train and mentor team members, promoting technical training and excellence.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A University degree in Accounting/Finance, Business/Commerce, Legal, or relevant discipline.
  • CA/CPA, CTA, or equivalent industry accreditation(s).
  • Proven experience in corporate tax and advisory, ideally in public practice.
  • Leadership experience, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Proactive client relationship management and cross-selling.
  • Demonstrated accountability and ownership.
