Finance Officer Job Description

As a Finance Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient processing and payment of invoices within the required timeframes. You will be responsible for administering the accounts payable function, including accurate and timely processing of accounts payable records, electronic distribution of invoices, and generation of EFT payments.

  • Process accounts payable records daily, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Distribute accounts payable invoices electronically, received on a daily basis
  • Generate a weekly EFT payment batch, as well as ad-hoc payments as required
  • Ensure payments to suppliers are made within our trading terms, complying with our procurement policy

You will possess sound knowledge of current GST legislation and its application, as well as demonstrated ability to identify warning signs of malicious emails. Intermediate level computer literacy in MS Office Excel and Outlook is also required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Minimum Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping
  • Minimum 2 – 3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience in accounts payable processing
  • Previous experience in reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
