ICU Clinical Unit Head Role Summary

This is a full-time appointment for an ICU Clinical Unit Head. The successful candidate will provide clinical and medical leadership for the ICU, working closely with the Nurse Unit Manager and other Clinical Unit Heads to deliver high-quality patient care.

The ICU Clinical Unit Head reports to the Clinical Director of Ambulatory & Critical Care and is responsible for implementing the facility's strategic vision and meeting clinical service delivery requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing clinical and medical leadership for the ICU team
  • Working collaboratively with the Nurse Unit Manager and other Clinical Unit Heads to achieve service goals
  • Implementing the facility's strategic vision and meeting clinical service delivery requirements
  • Reporting to the Clinical Director of Ambulatory & Critical Care

Requirements:

  • Medical Specialist Registration with AHPRA
  • Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a multidisciplinary team in an ICU setting
  • Significant experience working at a senior level in a major ICU
  • Demonstrated understanding of professional, legal, and ethical principles in intensive care services
  • Demonstrated understanding of research issues relevant to intensive care units
