About the Role

The Advanced Early Childhood Educator will work with children and their families to maximise their potential and meet their developmental and unique needs in a holistic and integrated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander early learning setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality education and care programs aligned with the National Quality Framework, Early Years Learning Framework, and ATSICHS Brisbane's values and historical experiences.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate developmentally appropriate play-based programs and early learning experiences for individual children and groups of children.
  • Build and maintain close relationships with parents/guardians through regular communication to meet the needs of individual families.
  • Remove access barriers to children by providing transport services, ensuring equal access to quality early years learning.

Requirements

  • Diploma of Children's Services or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working in an early education setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of developmental stages for children aged 0-5 years.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of holistic approaches when working with children to meet their total needs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Early Years Framework and its implications for delivering quality care and education services.
  • Demonstrated ability to record observations, analyse learning, and plan for new learning opportunities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge or eagerness to learn about factors contributing to vulnerability and intergenerational trauma of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal skills, including recording observations and documenting children's learning progress.
  • Current National Police Check, Driver's Licence, and First Aid Certificate.
  • Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or eligibility to apply.

  • Transport experience in an early childhood setting.
