Job Overview

The primary objective of this role is to construct residential and commercial buildings by laying bricks and blocks. The successful candidate will be responsible for reading and interpreting technical specifications and construction design plans, as well as mixing mortars and repairing brick constructions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Laying bricks and blocks to build houses and buildings according to design plans.
  • Preparing and applying mortar layers to serve as a base and binder for bricks.
  • Utilizing various hand tools and machines to cut, shape and lay bricks.
  • Ensuring the sealing of foundations and waterproof materials.
  • Interpreting technical specifications and applying construction design plans.
  • Evaluating building plans and specifications to determine required materials, dimensions and installation procedures.
  • Cutting and calculating angles, and determining vertical and horizontal alignment of courses using different tools.
  • Erecting and dismantling scaffolding structures.
  • Identifying necessary materials and calculating dimensions required for installation.
  • Compiling lists of needed materials and tools for the next day's tasks.
  • Mixing various types of mortars.
  • Repairing brick constructions and structures of diverse shapes.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of workstations and areas after completing tasks.
Requirements
  • A Certificate IV level qualification in a relevant field is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role is required.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is essential.
  • A high level of physical fitness and motivation is necessary.

This position requires strong skills and experience in civil construction, working at heights, physical fitness, and motivation, as well as proficiency in reading technical drawings, teamwork, and unsupervised work. Additionally, experience with hand tools, licenses, and certifications are advantageous.'],
