Policy Officer - Lived Experience Role

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to mental health reform by applying for the Policy Officer - Lived Experience role within our Advocacy and Reform team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital part in providing lived experience perspectives and input into our mental health and wellbeing program of work.

To be successful in this role, you will have personal lived experience of mental health issues and recovery, and be able to meaningfully and purposefully use your lived experience to influence system reform. You will also have demonstrated experience working in designated lived experience roles and be able to draw on your understanding of the peer workforce and consumer and carer movements to inform your work.

Key responsibilities of this role include providing high-quality project management and support services, undertaking environmental scans and gap analyses, and building and maintaining a detailed knowledge of mental health sector issues and the role of key stakeholders. You will also be responsible for developing advice and position papers regarding systemic issues relating to mental health and wellbeing, and analysing information from a range of sources and stakeholders in a context of competing priorities and points of view.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual who is capable of engaging with people with lived experience and other stakeholders through their excellent verbal and written communication skills.
