Job Title: Postdoctoral Fellow

About the Role

The role involves contributing to research efforts at UNSW and developing expertise through defined projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute independently or collaboratively in mining equipment development and safety technologies research.
  • Conduct research to produce scholarly output recognized by peers.
  • Undertake specific projects under guidance of a research leader.
  • Support dissemination of research outcomes.
  • Engage in surveys, literature reviews, data gathering, and recording results.
  • Participate in and present at conferences and workshops.
  • Assist in supervising research students where required.
Requirements
  • A PhD in Mining, Safety, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Commitment to staying updated with discipline knowledge.
  • Experience in mining equipment/product design, development, testing, or safety technologies.
  • Track record of publications and conference presentations.
  • Ability to work across disciplines and build relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Background in industrial design or product development and at least 5 years of relevant experience (desirable).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and research partners, preferably in Chinese and English.
