We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HR professional to join our team as an Advisor in the People department. Key Responsibilities- Provide Strategic HR Advice: Offer expert guidance and support to employees and managers on HR-related matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Manage Employee Remuneration and Benefits: Oversee the accurate delivery of employee remuneration and benefits, in accordance with applicable industrial regulations and agreements.
- Foster Collaborative Relationships: Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, including QRA teams and external partners as required.
- Lead Induction and Onboarding: Coordinate the QRA induction and onboarding program, including facilitating induction sessions and new starter events.
- Develop and Maintain HR Systems: Develop, maintain, and regularly update databases and registers related to the QRA establishment, including full-time equivalent (FTE) and contractor figures.
- Present High-Quality Reports: Prepare and present concise, high-quality, and timely correspondence and briefings to support business initiatives and establishment management.
- Support People Team Initiatives: Contribute to the delivery and coordination of People team initiatives, projects, training, and events.
- Undertake Workforce Reporting and Forecasting: Use PowerBI, Excel, and Human Resource systems to support business initiatives and establishment management.
- Develop and Improve HR Practices: Support the development, improvement, implementation, and review of HR practices and procedures.
- Appointments are subject to criminal history checks in accordance with section 52 of the Public Sector Act 2022.
- Prior to appointment, current and previous public sector employees are required to disclose any history of serious disciplinary action in accordance with section 71 of the Public Sector Act 2022.
- All employees are required to disclose any interest/s that conflict, may conflict or may be perceived to conflict with the discharge of their duties in accordance with section 182 of the Public Sector Act 2022.
As an Advisor in the People department, you will be part of a team of six positions and report to the Manager (People). This role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Queensland Government's HR function and make a positive impact on the employee experience.
