Key Responsibilities:

Service Delivery – Work closely with our Engineering teams to ensure smooth delivery of new services and maintenance of existing ones.

Service Assurance/Restoration – Collaborate with our Global Delivery Centre to rectify tickets, check services, and perform level taking, card swaps, and basic layer1 fault finding.

Preventative Maintenance – Perform periodic filter swaps, monthly generator testing, and other maintenance activities to ensure optimal network performance.

Corrective Maintenance – Work closely with Contractors & Vendors to correct facility issues and ensure timely resolution.

Transmission – Deliver new services and maintain current services, including site audits as required.

Enhanced Service platform elements and associated transmission systems for mobile and fixed services at various infrastructure locations, including Exchange, Controlled environmental vaults (CEV), Fibre access node (FAN), & Hubs.

You'll work primarily within the Exchange, with expertise in Network elements (interrogating and troubleshooting at system level with Transmission and in some cases, switching elements) essential. Experience in NFVI, DWDM, Core and Edge routers is preferred.

These platforms and associated infrastructure elements and services must be delivered and maintained to required business standards on a 24/7 shift work, on-call or recall arrangements to provide rapid response to critical incidents.

As a Network Engineer, you'll work on layer1, fibre design, patching of new services, patching of future re-arrangements, project management for large scale builds, contractor management & basic day to day maintenance activities.

Requirements:

  • Hold a technical qualification (Cert III, Cert IV, degree, or diploma) in Telecommunications Engineering (or related Engineering field) or equivalent working experience.
  • Be available to work 24/7 year round.
  • Have experience in fixed transmission networks with an excellent knowledge of network design and technologies.
  • Have broad knowledge of critical infrastructure such as DC systems, rectifiers, batteries, PDUs, UPS systems, fire alarms and fire panels, HVAC, air handlers, chillers, grounding, DC cabling, etc.
  • Have experience in Fibre and Electronics.
