Employment Law Role

CSL, a top 5 ASX company, is a global biotechnology organisation with a dynamic portfolio of lifesaving medicines.

This newly created position involves providing comprehensive advice on employment law across the Asia Pacific region, focusing on Australia, China and Japan.

You will collaborate with HR professionals, Enterprise Risk specialists, Ethics & Compliance experts and business partners to support strategic decision-making.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Providing subject matter expertise on Australian employment law matters, including discrimination allegations, counselling and terminations
  • Offering direct and succinct employment law advice that is strategic, risk-conscious and actionable
  • Working with Industrial Relations to participate in Enterprise Agreement strategy, support negotiations and claims analysis
  • Managing employment law items across APAC, utilising local internal legal support where available
  • Overseeing outside counsel and representing the company in litigation and agency matters

Qualifications:

  • LLB or JD from an Australian university
  • Admission to practice in Victoria, Australia
  • Demonstrated experience in Australian Employment law matters, preferably in-house experience
  • Experience in conducting complex employment-related items and working effectively within a matrixed organisational structure
