The Allied Health Assistant Orthotic role plays a crucial part in providing technical assistance to orthotists and manufacturing orthotic devices for patients referred to the Orthotics Department. The position is an integral member of a team striving to achieve the mission, philosophy, and objectives of the Orthotics Department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Rendering technical support to orthotists
  • Designing and producing orthotic and related devices for patients
  • Aiding in the preparation of orthotic devices and materials
  • Contributing to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A certificate III level technical qualification
  • Experience with hand tools, workshop machinery, leather work, welding, plastic moulding, or other technical or manufacturing skills
  • Prior work experience and/or training as an orthotic/prosthetic technical assistant
