Climate Change Director Role

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our climate change efforts as Assistant Director.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Leverage expertise to implement reporting frameworks for climate adaptation strategies
  • Coordinate climate-related reporting and briefing requests from internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver key climate adaptation projects
  • Engage with external advisory groups to drive MDBA's strategic objectives in climate adaptation
  • Foster partnerships with research institutions and stakeholders to build climate adaptation capacity in the Basin

The Murray-Darling Basin Authority (MDBA) is responsible for planning and managing the Basin's water resources. Our primary goal is to develop an integrated plan for sustainable water resource use, operating the River Murray system efficiently on behalf of partner governments.

MDBA's core function is to ensure effective management of the Basin's water resources, promoting the interests of all stakeholders. The role will involve close collaboration with internal teams to achieve this objective.

This position requires exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate complex projects and manage relationships with key stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
