Job Opportunity: Marine Vessel Engineer

The role of a marine vessel engineer is to oversee the safe mechanical operation of vessels. Key responsibilities include performing daily engine and machinery checks, assisting with the management and safe operations of the vessel, diagnosing system problems, and ensuring all maintenance requirements are recorded.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance tasks on assigned vessels
  • Collaborate with the master to ensure vessel operations meet safety standards
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs
  • Develop and implement effective preventive maintenance programs for vessels
  • Coordinate with shore-based support teams for servicing and repairs as needed
  • Assist with securing vessels at marinas and island jetties
About the Ideal Candidate:

We seek a skilled and experienced marine engineer with a strong track record of maintaining high-speed vessels. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work autonomously, and have experience with risk assessments and introducing practical safety measures.

  • Marine Engineer qualification (MED 1 or MED 2) within the tourism industry;
  • Strong knowledge of marine engines and systems;
  • Experience with conducting risk assessments and implementing safety protocols;
  • Excellent customer service skills to ensure guest expectations are met;
  • Proficiency with time management and organizational skills;
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team;
  • Effective problem-solving skills with a customer-centric approach
