About the Position:

This is a full-time role that requires excellent organisational and time management skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring market trends and customer preferences to forecast demand. They will also be expected to recommend clearance sales, promotions, and offers for better marketing strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Source and purchase fresh flowers and related products from suppliers
  2. Negotiate pricing and delivery terms to ensure cost-effective procurement
  3. Monitor market trends and customer preferences to forecast demand
  4. Recommend clearance sales, promotions, and offers for better marketing strategy
  5. Analyse category-wise past sales patterns to anticipate trends in consumer buying patterns, including hot selling items
  6. Provide recommendations to management for optimum stock levels to minimise holding costs by studying trades and market information
  7. Maintain supplier relationships and visit markets regularly

Requirements:

  • Recent minimum of 2 years' experience as a buyer, preferably in the floral or fresh produce sectors
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Passion for flowers and seasonal trends
  • Ability to commute or relocate
  • Ability to work shifts, including night and early morning shifts
