About the Role

Are you ready to shape health, safety and environmental outcomes in complex environments? We're seeking a Lead HSE Advisor to drive excellence across our operations.

In this role, you'll work closely with Program Managers supporting Ground Support Equipment and Counter-CBRNE contracts. You'll develop and implement HSE protocols tailored to operational contexts, ensuring alignment with Defence standards. Your expertise will guide risk assessments, incident investigations, and audit activities in high-risk domains.

You'll advise on HSE considerations throughout the asset lifecycle from capability planning to sustainment, integrating safety and environmental controls into every phase. Your ability to interpret legislation, apply ISO standards (14001, 45001), and analyse HSE data will be key to identifying emerging risks and driving continuous improvement.

This role demands a strong technical foundation, sound judgement, and influence at all levels. You'll lead toolbox talks, mentor operational teams, and partner with stakeholders to embed a proactive safety culture.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Australian Citizenship with a Defence security clearance
  • AQF Level 4 Qualification or Equivalent in Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Risk Management or a transferable engineering-related qualification
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within Defence or other high-risk industries
  • Strong understanding of relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation, codes of practice, and industry standards
  • Proficient in root cause analysis and incident investigation methodologies
  • Competent in using HSEQ management systems, including accurate data entry and event management
  • High proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, with the ability to generate high-quality reports and manage documentation effectively
