Job Title: HD Fitters

This is a key role within our organization, requiring an individual who can effectively maintain and repair heavy-duty equipment. As part of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all machinery is in good working order, which is essential for the smooth operation of our business.

  • Carry out scheduled maintenance on mobile equipment to ensure it operates safely and efficiently.
  • Mentor and coach less experienced tradespeople to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Utilize your expertise to minimize downtime on equipment and maximize productivity.
  • Record and report maintenance activities accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping in the workshop and work areas.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals to troubleshoot problems with equipment.
  • Report any equipment faults to the Maintenance Supervisor for scheduling into the workshop planning.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated passion for safety and proactive attitude towards ensuring safety is paramount at all times.
  • Experience in training less qualified tradespeople to a high standard in a high-productivity environment.
  • Strong background working with latest generation underground mobile equipment and associated automation systems.
  • At least 5 years post-apprenticeship experience working within the underground mining industry on large mobile equipment.
  • High degree of knowledge and skill in troubleshooting problems on electric hydraulic drilling equipment.
  • Good knowledge of loader and truck maintenance.
  • Competent in Auto Electrics, Hydraulic Circuit Schematics, and Diesel engine maintenance.
  • Self-starter who works with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent service and maintenance approach to the job.
  • International Driving License.
