Job Description

This role is ideal for an individual who possesses strong technical skills and experience in electrical distribution system planning, design, and analysis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing conceptual and detailed designs of overhead and underground electric power distribution systems, including lighting design and grounding.

You will work closely with clients to understand their needs and develop solutions that meet their requirements. Your expertise in PLS-CADD and other design software will enable you to create high-quality deliverables and collaborate effectively with the team.

Responsibilities
  1. Prepare all technical aspects and deliverables associated with the conceptual and detailed design of overhead and underground electric power distribution systems, distribution system planning, lighting design, and grounding.
  2. Coordinate the preparation of construction packages for overhead and underground distribution lines, including plan and profile drawings, structure assemblies, and details.
  3. Assign tasks and provide guidance to junior team members and coordinate quality control reviews for work performed by EITs and/or designers.
  4. Identify and implement learning opportunities for EITs and/or designers through methods such as job shadowing and knowledge sharing.
  5. Perform quality control reviews of projects from other teams as needed.
  6. Provide engineering input on specific project design issues and questions.
  7. Conduct engineering analyses to develop design options.
  8. Assist with preparation of cost estimates or specifications.
  9. Attend client stakeholder meetings and lead design reviews with the client.
  10. Provide input to the development of project manhours estimates and task schedules.
  11. Effectively manage multiple tasks for multiple projects while being cognizant of schedule and budget.
  12. Perform site visits during the design, construction, and as-built phases of projects, including participating in field reviews or construction observation.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  2. Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  3. Previous experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.
  4. Computer skills in Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software.
  5. A strong understanding of electrical distribution system planning, design, and analysis.
