Lead Technical Expert

We are seeking a Lead Technical Expert to drive technical excellence and ensure compliance in our workshop environment.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis or Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated leadership in a maintenance environment
- Experience using SAP and MS Office
- Knowledge of WHS, quality assurance, and Defence compliance standards
- Manual C-class driver's licence
This role involves leading and mentoring a team of skilled trade staff and apprentices, allocating tasks and managing workflow according to the End-to-End Maintenance Process. You will also provide expert technical guidance, conduct inspections and audits, and drive continuous improvement across the team.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement technical strategies to improve quality and efficiency
- Mentor and develop team members to achieve their full potential
- Ensure compliance with WHS and Defence standards
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement
- Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis or Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a leadership role in a workshop or maintenance environment
- Strong technical knowledge and skills in automotive mechanical diagnosis
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
