Procurement Category Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Category Specialist to join our team at WesTrac Cat.

This pivotal role is focused on delivering exceptional commercial outcomes and enhancing operational efficiency across high-volume procurement activities.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a strategic overview of industry trends to inform procurement strategies.
  • Collaborate with supply partners to monitor and review contract Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Lead strategic planning initiatives to transform the category by analyzing market conditions and identifying opportunities for growth.
  • Ensure contract compliance and assess vendor performance through regular audits and reviews.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, Category Management, or a related field is essential for this role.
  • A strong background in contract lifecycle management is required, including experience with contract negotiation, administration, and renewal.
  • Knowledge of advanced sourcing strategies, including reverse auctions and competitive tendering processes, is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, such as SAP ARIBA, is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Industry experience in mining, construction, forestry, infrastructure, manufacturing, or engineering is highly desirable.
