Job Title: Learning Support Specialist

**Role Overview**

School learning support specialists provide vital support to students with diverse learning needs in classrooms and other learning environments under the direction of a teacher.

This role involves working collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents to achieve educational outcomes. It also requires developing and maintaining relationships with staff and community members to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

Key aspects of this role include:

  • Providing student welfare, health, and wellbeing activities as required.
  • Supporting students with emotional, physical, or intellectual disabilities.
  • Administering medications and providing first aid training as needed.

Successful applicants will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and demonstrate empathy and understanding when interacting with students and families from diverse backgrounds.

**Essential Requirements**

  • Clearance for Working with Children
  • Completion of mandatory training required by the Department of Education
  • Administration of Medications - training to be provided based on student needs

  • Ability to work with students with emotional, physical, or intellectual disabilities
  • Awareness of the needs of students with emotional, physical, or intellectual disabilities
