Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Womenswear Designer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative individual to design commercially strong products from conception through development.

The successful candidate will have 2+ years of experience in design or product development, with a strong understanding of current and future trends for the Australian market.

You will be responsible for researching trends, creating mood boards, curating cohesive collections, and designing assortment. Your skills will include CAD development and sketching, as well as a deep knowledge of the Product Development Lifecycle and its components.

You will work closely with multiple departments to understand how the business operates and support cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a constant pulse on the market landscape including consumer needs, competition, trends, and brand position with a focus on the Australian market.
  • Understand and drive company-wide strategies and OKRs.
  • Engage with multiple departments to understand how the business operates and support cross-functional collaboration.
  • Identify sales opportunities through trends, colors, market research, and customer insights; translate market and trends into commercially viable opportunities for the buying team.
  • Work with the buying team to ensure ranges and products align with buyer needs and category strategy.
  • Manage the full development cycle of new, exclusively developed products; oversee all aspects from design hand-off through TOPs.
  • Participate in quarterly trend presentations with the product development leadership team; translate market styles to customers.
  • Assist product development leadership in building capsule collections with buying and merchandising partners for the Australian market with global viability.
  • Create mood boards for suppliers and buyers; create CADs or flats for supplier development.
  • Lead and manage all pre-production samples; ensure exclusives meet quality, fit, and styling standards.
  • Collaborate with the buying team to present monthly collections/stories to leadership and marketing.

  • Excellent verbal communication to collaborate with colleagues at all levels.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate across teams.
