Geochemical Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled geochemical specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in conducting geochemical characterisation of mine wastes, mineral waste management, and water quality assessments.

The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in geology, geochemistry, environmental science or engineering, with relevant industry experience. A tertiary qualification and/or postgraduate degree in one of these fields is preferred.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing expert advice on geochemical matters to clients
  • Conducting fieldwork including drilling supervision and geological logging, test pit logging and sampling (soils, water, geological samples)
  • Designing and implementing field and laboratory investigations to support geochemical assessments
  • Managing static and kinetic geochemical laboratory programs, and processing and interpreting laboratory data
  • Developing practical mineral waste management plans and solutions

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong technical background in geology, geochemistry, environmental science or engineering
  • Relevant industry experience, preferably with a tertiary qualification and/or postgraduate degree in one of these fields
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Previous project management and business development experience
  • Language fluency in English
  • The ability to prepare and peer review high-quality technical reports
